With the first team at Leicester in a league match, Leeds field a reserve side in the FA Cup and for this they recieve a fine. Armitage opens the scoring but Longbottom equalises from the spot. Armitage scores again to give Leeds a half time lead before Eugene O'Doherty grabs a second half hat-trick to see Leeds through despite Boothtown scoring a second.

Merton Ellson puts Leeds a goal up from 20 yards and Ernie Goldthorpe makes it two before Spittle reduces the arrears. Goldthorpe is then brought down by Harrold and Leeds United is awarded its first ever penalty. Goalkeeper Brown saves Goldthorpe's spot kick but the latter nets from the rebound to secure the points.

Walter Butler's hat trick sets up a 7-0 victory but United withdraw from the competition in protest at the fines being handed out for not fielding the strongest side.

The game, originally postponed on the 20th November due to fog, is played in the afternoon. Leeds dominate but don't make the breakthrough until the second half and from then on, it is one way traffic. Coventry lose Binks to a knee injury just after half time and they finish the game with nine men after the loss of Robinson, also through injury.

Leeds are well beaten in the capital. Puddefoot grabs a hat-trick as West Ham ease to victory, his first comes from a penalty conceded by Frew. Just after half time he latches on to Frew's weak back pass to double the lead before heading home an Allen free kick. The striker should have had four but he put a penalty wide in the 88th minute after Baker's hand ball.

Walton's foul on Rosbotham gives the hosts a penalty which Heath converts and Rosbotham himself seals the victory late in the game.

Leeds fail again at Elland Road. The defence leave Pagnam unmarked and he opens the scoring on the half hour. Howarth quickly equalises from the spot after Blair's foul but the away side win the game after Baker's handball gave them a penalty. Although Billy Down saved Keenan's spot kick, he could not save the rebound.

Both sides have chances to score at Elland Road. Cooper saves well from Howarth and Baker whilst Merton Ellson hits the crossbar. Donkin goes close for Barnsley in an entertaining end to end match.

Russell Wainscoat gives Barnsley the perfect start following good work by Donkin and Fletcher but Leeds level just before half time through Tommy Howarth who netted the rebound after Mason's shot comes back off the bar.

Billy Down is unsighted as Armstrong scores from 25 yards to give the visitors the lead in the final league match of the season at Elland Road. For the second week running, Tommy Howarth equalises to earn Leeds a point.

Leeds dominate early on but Forest take the lead when Elliott bundles Down into the goal with the ball in his hands. Howarth sees an effort ruled out for offisde and there is drama in the crowd when smoke appears from a disgarded cigarette but the situation is quickly under control.

The season ends with a rare away win. Billy Down leaves the field injured early on and Rodgerson takes over in goal until Down returns. Millership handles in the area and Howarth makes no mistake from the spot to give Leeds the lead. Armitage is cautioned for kicking Millership as the first half draws to a close. Howarth doubles the lead with a superb strike early in the second half and in the 88th minute, Billy Down saves Millership's penalty after Rodgerson had handled. In saving the spot kick, Down was injured and he left the field. Baker took over in goal.
