Leeds are hammered by Spurs in the Capital. Harmer lays on the opener for Brooks before Keith Ripley levels from Jackie Overfield's cross. Robb heads the hosts back in front from a corner and they take command. Smith adds a third just before half time. Early in the second half, John Charles clears off his own goal line but the hosts score again through Medwin, Brooks sees an effort disallowed but the fifth goal comes from Blanchflower.

Bobby Forrest goes close in the opening seconds but Leeds don't have long to wait before taking the lead. Hartle is admanant that he's cleared George Meek's effort off the line but the referee awards a goal. Nat Lofthouse forces Roy Wood into a good save before levelling with a header. Meek's corner is powered home by John Charles to restore Leeds' lead. Harold Brook makes it 3-1 before Holden pulls one back with a minute to go.

John Charles and Roy Wood are the star men as Leeds win at Molineux. Charles heads home a Jackie Overfield cross early in the second half to put the visitors ahead. In the 63rd minute, Jimmy Dunn handles in the area but Wood saves Slater's penalty. Charles adds a second when he cuts inside and fires past the keeper before Wolves score a consolation through Broadbent.

Both sides changed at a nearby sports ground after the fire had destroyed the West Stand. John Charles gets the opening goal with a powerful shot that hits Hogg on the way past the 'keeper. Villa press in the second half but Leeds hold firm.

Luton take the lead against the run of play when Turner races onto a Morton through ball and beats Roy Wood. John Charles heads Leeds level from Geroge Meek's cross. Turner restores Luton's advantage but for the second time Charles levels within five minutes.

Leeds' five match unbeaten run comes to an end in Wales despite taking a first minute lead. John Charles' cross is flicked on by Keith Ripley and Bobby Forrest opens the scoring. Ford levels with a diving header and Leeds are behind when Hitchens fires home from 25 yards. Eric Kerfoot's own goal increases Cardiff's lead before Hitchens rounds off a comfortable win.

Bernard Larkin scores for Birmingham on his debut in a firey encounter at Elland Road. Keith Ripley heads Leeds equaliser although the visitors claim a foul on Gil Merrick. John Charles is a passenger during the second half after being carried off on a stretcher just before half time, he returns and sees the game out on the right wing.

With John Charles on international duty, 17 year old Chris Crowe make his Leeds debut at Burnley. Leeds have the better of the game, with Crowe unlucky not to mark his occassion with a goal, but neither side can make the breakthrough.

Chris Crowe continues to deputise for John Charles who returned from international duty with a slight injury. Baxter puts the visitors into the lead and Tom Finney scores the winner. Leeds' goal comes when Ray Wilson diverts a cross into his own net.

Frank McKenna has a dream debut as he scores twice at St James Park. He opens the scoring after Stokoe, under pressure from John Charles, gives him the ball and McKenna crashes the ball past Simpson. Keeble intercepts Kerfoot's poor back pass to equalise before McKenna heads Leeds back in front. Charles increases the lead but the hosts reduce the arrears through Davies.

John Charles is the hero with a hat-trick at Elland Road after Finney scores a fine solo goal to give the visitors the lead. Charles levels with a low drive following Archie Gibson's free kick. Frank McKenna goes close with a header before Charles fires his second, in off the post and completes his hat-trick with a shot from just inside the area.

Leeds lose by the odd goal in five at Old Trafford. Roy Wood fails to hold a McGuiness shot and Whelan nets the rebound before Frank McKenna heads home a John Charles flick on from a corner. Charles goes close on two occasions before Bobby Charlton puts the hosts in front from close range and soon after Whelan nets his second. Charles pulls a goal back from the spot after McGuiness is penalised.

Leeds dominate the first half but find themselves 3-0 down. Two goals scored by Tapscott, the second following a mistake by Roy Wood, and one from Holton. John Charles heads home Jasckie Overfield's corner to reduce the arrears and Bobby Forrest makes it 2-3 two minutes later. A brilliant comeback is sealed when Charles heads the equaliser wth five minutes left.
