Upton Park sees a late goal rush as Leeds win in the Capital. John Giles opens the scoring with a left foot shot inside the far post and a brilliant 20 yard strike from Norman Hunter makes it 2-0. The game looks comfortable until the final ten minutes when Leeds fall asleep at the back to allow Peter Eustace and Trevor Brooking to level the scores. However, there is still time for substitute Rod Belfitt to grab a late winner.

Leeds come from behind to beat Palace at Elland Road. Alan Birchenall puts the visitors ahead when he sweeps a shot past David Harvey just before the half hour. The Whites are level just before the break when John Giles' shot from 30 yards out, goes in off the post. Peter Lorimer grabs the winner from 10 yards out after Palace fail to clear.
