The game, which comes to life in the final ten minutes, proves to be Billy Bremner's last for Leeds United. Leeds are leading 1-0, courtesy of David McNiven's goal, when Tony Currie limps off injured to be replaced by Carl Harris. Tommy Cassidy equalises when he heads in a corner with ten minutes to go and substitute, Harris restores Leeds lead when he powers home a header from an Eddie Gray cross. Leeds are denied with just four minutes left when Paul Cannell scores from 15 yards after getting the better of Paul Madeley.
