The 1978-79 season ends in disappointing fashion as Liverpool rout Leeds at Elland Road. Ray Clemence saves well from John Hawley and Kevin Hird before the visitors take the lead after 21 minutes through David Johnson. Jimmy Case makes it 2-0 with a fierce shot just before the break and Carl Harris misses a great chance to reduce the arrears after 51 minutes. However, there is no stopping the League Champions and Johnson heads in from close range for the third. It could have been worse but for David Harvey making a superb save to deny Ray Kennedy.
